Tone 89D | Fennesz – ‘Live at St James’s Church Piccadilly’

DL – 1 track – 53:45

Order from Bandcamp on 2nd May

Designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren between 1672 and 1684, St James’s Church in Piccadilly was badly damaged during the Blitz in October 1940 and restored after the war by Sir Albert Richardson.

Following the release of Venice20 and an epic new work, Mosaic, this was Christian Fennesz’s first London concert since the Touch40 nights at Iklectik in June 2022. The vast and vaulted space was well-suited to his soaring sound. With support from Robin Rimbaud/Scanner, this 53 minute set finds him in tremendous form.

Recorded by Lee McFadden and mastered by Denis Blackham.
Photography/design by Jon Wozencroft.
